The President of Uzbekistan completes his state visit to China

    The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev has completed his state visit to the People’s Republic of China, full of fruitful meetings and agreements.

    On January 24, talks between the President of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev and the President of China Xi Jinping took place, as a result of which the leaders adopted a Joint Statement and a solid package of bilateral documents was signed in the city of Beijing.

    On the first day of the visit, meetings were held with the Premier of the State Council of the People’s Republic of China Li Qiang, and the Chairman of the Standing Committee of the National People’s Congress Zhao Leji. Talks were held with the heads of the Asian Infrastructure Investment Bank, CNPC and CITIC corporations, and the Export-Import Bank of China.

    The second day of the state visit was marked by business events in the innovation capital of China – the city of Shenzhen. The President of Uzbekistan discussed interregional cooperation with the Secretary of the Guangdong Party Committee Huang Kunming.

    The Leader of Uzbekistan took part in the Uzbekistan – China Investment Forum with the participation of more than 600 representatives of large businesses and also held meetings with the heads of the Silk Road Fund, SANY, and CSG companies.

    At the headquarters and technology center of BYD, the leader in the global electric vehicle market, the President of Uzbekistan launched the joint production of hybrid and electric cars in Jizzakh region.

    Thereupon, the President’s state visit to China has ended.

    Officials from Guangdong province saw off the distinguished guest at the airport. The President of Uzbekistan departed for Tashkent.
