With the participation of delegations from both countries, the sides engaged in a substantive discussion on the consistent deepening of good neighborliness, strategic partnership, and alliance between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan.
The heads of state warmly congratulated each other and the fraternal peoples of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan on the spring holiday of Navruz and the upcoming Ramadan Hayit – Eid al-Fitr.
Particular satisfaction was expressed with the current exceptionally high level of multifaceted cooperation between Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan. Active contacts are maintained at all levels. Trade turnover has increased by 14 percent since the beginning of the year, an investment project portfolio worth over $4 billion has been formed, and close interregional ties and cultural-humanitarian exchanges continue to expand.
The heads of state heard reports from the Deputy Prime Ministers of Uzbekistan and Kazakhstan on the measures being taken to boost mutual trade and advance cooperation projects between leading enterprises in key sectors such as mechanical engineering, electrical equipment manufacturing, oil and gas, textiles, agriculture, and others.
The Presidents issued specific instructions to develop a long-term program for industrial cooperation and to accelerate the implementation of regional infrastructure projects.
The importance of launching practical work this year on establishing the International Industrial Cooperation Center, as well as expanding the activities of the joint foreign trade company, was emphasized.
An exchange of views took place on the regional agenda, including preparations for the upcoming Central Asian summits to be held in Uzbekistan in the coming months.
The schedule of forthcoming bilateral and multilateral events was also reviewed.
The meeting was held in a traditionally friendly and constructive atmosphere.
