Uzbekistan, Turkey Presidents exchange greetings on Ramadan Hayit

    On May 2, President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev held a telephone conversation with the President of the Republic of Turkey Recep Tayyip Erdogan.

    The heads of state warmly congratulated each other and the fraternal peoples of the two countries on the occasion of the Ramadan Hayit, sincerely wishing peace, well-being and prosperity.

    The fruitful results of the high-level visit to Uzbekistan in March this year, which made it possible to bring bilateral relations to the level of a comprehensive strategic partnership, were noted with deep satisfaction.

    An intensive exchange of delegations is taking place. Since the beginning of the year, the trade turnover has grown by almost 20 percent. The implementation of major investment projects to create modern industrial facilities and modernize infrastructure in Uzbekistan with the participation of leading Turkish companies continues. The two countries are enhancing collaboration in the educational, cultural and humanitarian spheres.

    Uzbekistan and Turkey leaders also exchanged views on the current issues of international politics and discussed preparations for the next summit of the Organization of Turkic States.

    The telephone conversation between the Presidents took place in a traditionally confidential and friendly atmosphere.
