According to the Embassy of Uzbekistan in Italy, the International Organizing Committee of the International Wheat Congress officially approved holding this prestigious forum in the city of Samarkand in 2030.

The International Wheat Congress is considered one of the most important events of the global scientific community, where leading experts, scientists, government authorities, and industry representatives discuss the latest achievements in wheat breeding, genetics, genomics, and agronomy. While the last events of this conference, held every two years, were attended by 800–900 delegates, the number of participants at the congress in Samarkand is expected to exceed one thousand people.

In May of this year, the Ministry of Agriculture of Uzbekistan and the Embassy of our country in Italy submitted an official proposal to the organizers to hold the VI International Wheat Congress in the city of Samarkand. Along with Uzbekistan, countries such as Argentina, Greece, Morocco, Nepal, France, Turkey, and Ethiopia also competed for this right.

The primary factors supporting full backing to hold the prestigious conference in Samarkand were the strategic importance of wheat cultivation in Uzbekistan and Central Asia, the high attention paid to scientific research in the grain-growing sector in our country, as well as the availability of modern and high-quality infrastructure necessary for organizing international-level events at a high standard.
