President’s new year greeting to the people of Uzbekistan

    Uzbekistan 1 January 2021 13442

Our Uzbekistan is entering the new year, 2021. I cordially congratulate our entire multiethnic people – our esteemed veterans, lovely women, wonderful youth – on this splendid holiday.

I wish you all sound health, happiness, peace and prosperity.

    Dear friends!

We all know how difficult 2020 has been for the whole world, including our country. The coronavirus pandemic and the global crisis proved a serious test for humanity.

The intricate situation notwithstanding, our nation has undergone vast transformation across sectors thanks to the selfless endeavors of our people.

Leading industries are advancing steadily. Dozens of hi-tech enterprises and new transport systems have been commissioned. Modern residential blocks, roads and bridges, kindergartens and schools, hospitals, cultural and sports facilities are being built.

Our hardworking, skillful dehkans and farmers have grown rich crops. Wider opportunities are opening up for the development of small business and private entrepreneurship. Thousands of new jobs were created during the year, especially for women and youth.

The outgoing year has been rich in important events also in the cultural and humanitarian sphere.

We have strengthened relations of friendship and cooperation with foreign states, primarily with our neighbors. Important steps have been taken to further enhance Uzbekistan’s standing in the international arena.

    Dear compatriots!

The coming year 2021 has been declared in Uzbekistan as the Year of Support for Youth and Public Health Promotion.

In the new year, we will consistently continue the extensive reforms launched in the economic and social sectors.

To cement peace and stability, interethnic harmony, the atmosphere of mutual respect and support will remain the basic objective for us.

We will attach particular significance to improving the welfare and social protection of the population. The focus of our attention will be on addressing the vital interests of young people, women and senior citizens. We will raise our work to protect health and promote healthy lifestyle to a new level.

Our national independence will turn 30 in the year 2021. Surely, all of us, together, will celebrate that glorious date in the history of our land.

In a word, extensive construction and creative works will continue into the new year to build the new Uzbekistan.

    Dear friends!

Addressing you on this festive evening, I sincerely wish the following:

May there be peace, happiness and prosperity in every family, in our entire country in 2021!

May all our good dreams and hopes come true!

    May our Uzbekistan flourish!

    Happy New Year, dear compatriots!

    Shavkat Mirziyoyev,
President of the Republic of Uzbekistan
