The incident occurred approximately at 08:10 hours. We are talking about an uninhabited, unused entrance, which was previously officially recognized as an emergency and subject to dismantling.
The akimat of Balkhash city stressed that there was no threat to residents at the time of the incident.
— The fifth entrance was declared an emergency in 2025 on the basis of a technical report and construction expertise conducted in accordance with the requirements of the legislation of the Republic of Kazakhstan. The residents were resettled in advance, and the apartments were declared uninhabitable, the Balkhash city akimat reported.
According to the city authorities, no one was in the entrance at the time of the collapse. There are no casualties. The building was fenced off, and access to the emergency area was restricted. Engineering communications — electricity, heat and water supply — are turned off in accordance with the established procedure.
The fifth entrance is currently being dismantled at the facility. They are conducted in compliance with the requirements of construction and industrial safety.
— After the completion of the dismantling work, additional technical inspection and construction expertise of the remaining four entrances will be carried out. Next, it is planned to develop design and estimate documentation to strengthen their structures," the akimat of Balkhash city clarified.
