This was reported by the Ministry of Transport.
It was noted that during the visit, which included representatives of major transport and forwarding companies of our country, strategic agreements were reached to strengthen regional connectivity.
One of the most important topics at the center of the negotiations was the acceleration of the "Uzbekistan – Afghanistan – Pakistan" railway construction project.
In a meeting with Mazhar Ali Shah, the Deputy Minister of Railways of Pakistan, it was agreed to commence field research work shortly to develop the project's feasibility study.
At the same time, another significant step was taken toward diversifying transport routes.
During a dialogue with Ali Shah Masud, the Deputy Minister of Communications of Pakistan, an agreement was reached to create the new "Pakistan – China – Kyrgyzstan – Uzbekistan" transport way.
To practically test the advantages and prospects of this route, the first pilot cargo shipments are scheduled to be carried out in February of this year.
This corridor opens doors for new opportunities for Uzbekistan to access not only Pakistani but also Chinese markets.
