The purpose of the visit was to get acquainted with the sights of the city, with their ancient history, as well as with the activities of the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage "Silk Road", as part of the development of Uzbek-French relations in the field of education and tourism.
During the visit, Mrs. Orelia Bouchez had an official meeting with Deputy Prime Minister, Minister of Tourism and Cultural Heritage of the Republic of Uzbekistan, Rector of the Silk Road University Aziz Abdukhakimov. The sides discussed the prospects for cooperation in the field of education. A. Abdukhakimov noted the need to maintain strong working contacts, as well as to establish an academic bridge for unhindered mobility of students and university teachers of both countries.
The French Ambassador to Uzbekistan, Orelia Bouchez, donated unique books on architecture, museology, as well as on gastronomic tourism to the university's library fund.
"These books will occupy a special place on the shelves of the library and will raise the potential of knowledge in the field of architecture, cultural heritage and gastronomic tourism to a higher quality level," A. Abdukhakimov said.
In accordance with the mutual desire of the peoples of France and Uzbekistan to develop educational cooperation as a basis for training highly qualified personnel for foreign economic relations of the two countries, having common priorities in the field of tourism development and scientific research, the International University of Tourism and Cultural Heritage "Silk Road" has maintained close cooperation with higher educational institutions of France since its foundation.
