In accordance with the document, potato clusters and farming cooperatives will be formed in areas specializing in potato growing.
One of the main directions of potato clusters and cooperatives is the production of consumer and growing potatoes in continuous areas based on innovative and resource-saving technologies, as well as the creation of a value-added chain in this area.
The Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to expand the production of potatoes and the further development of potato growing production in the Republic of Uzbekistan” approved the list of local and regional specializing in the production of consumer and seed potatoes.
According to the Resolution of the President of the Republic of Uzbekistan “On measures to expand the production of potatoes and further development of potato growing production in the Republic of Uzbekistan”, starting from May 1, 2020, commercial loans are granted for up to 12 months to finance the costs of purchasing seed potatoes to farms and agricultural enterprises producing potatoes, as well as to potato growing clusters and cooperatives.
Seed potatoes imported from abroad before July 1, 2023 are exempted from customs duties.
