Dear readers and friends! Today we celebrate the 108th anniversary of the first issue of the newspaper Pravda Vostoka.
It is well known that print media in our country has a long history.
The first printed publication in our country is considered to be the newspaper “Tarakky”, which was published on June 27, 1906.
And the first issue of Pravda Vostoka was published on April 2, 1917, which was then called Nasha Gazeta.
It received its current name in 1924, and since 1975 the newspaper has become a daily.
It is noteworthy that Pravda Vostoka is currently the oldest published socio-political newspaper in Uzbekistan.
More than 30,000 issues have already been published, or to be precise, 30,641 issues of the newspaper, which is an absolute record among all media outlets in the country.
For more than a hundred years of its existence, thousands of professional journalists have worked in the newspaper's editorial office, and the publication itself has become a school of excellence for tens of thousands of young professionals.
After independence, the newspaper began to be published under the auspices of the Cabinet of Ministers of the country.
In accordance with the government's decision of January 3, 2020 on the organization of the editorial office of the newspapers Yangi Uzbekistan and Pravda Vostoka, the staff of the newspaper Pravda Vostoka began working as a joint editorial office.
The collective of publications, in accordance with the requirements of modern times, works as a convergent editorial office.
Printed publications have their own website and pages on all social networks, reaching more and more audiences.
The success is also accompanied by the fact that today the majority of our staff consists of young journalists.
Today, Pravda Vostoka is making every effort to effectively provide readers with timely, analytical and objective information.
The publication pays special attention to highlighting the unprecedented reforms being implemented in our country under the leadership of our esteemed President Shavkat Mirziyoyev.
On this holiday, we would like to confirm that the editorial staff will continue to make every effort to fulfill their tasks.
Taking this opportunity, we would like to sincerely congratulate all the distinguished readers, the staff of the friendly editorial office, and all the dear veterans who previously worked in our publication on the 108th anniversary of the Pravda Vostoka newspaper.
We wish you good health and new creative successes!
Sincerely,
Editor-in-Chief of the newspapers “Yangi Uzbekistan” and “Pravda Vostoka”
Salim Donyorov.
