Representatives of Uzbekistan took part in a major international festival of crafts in India

    The 36th International Cultural Festival and fair of handicrafts "Surajkund International Crafts Mela" took place in the Indian state of Haryana from February 3 to 20, which was attended by representatives of our country.

    This major international event traditionally takes place every year in February, where representatives of more than 50 countries of the world participate, in particular artisans, musicians and artists, cooks present their national culture in the form of cooked various dishes of traditional cuisine.

    This year, Uzbek artisans and representatives of musical art from different regions of Uzbekistan took an active part in the festival in cooperation with the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of our country, the Hunarmand Association and the Embassy in India. During the almost 20-day event, the guests of the festival were presented with the tourist potential of our country, rich handicraft heritage and culture.

    Ambassador of Uzbekistan Dilshod Akhatov took part in the opening and closing ceremonies of the international festival. During the cultural forum, a meeting was held with the head of the government of the state of Haryana, Manohar Lal, during which gratitude was expressed for the special attention shown to the delegation of Uzbekistan, the Dune news agency reports.

    It should be noted that every year the international festival "Surajkund International Crafts Mela" is visited by more than 1.5 million visitors. During the current festival-fair, the masters of our country had the opportunity not only to present their products widely, but also to negotiate with new partners of the sphere on establishing cooperation, as well as exporting their products to the Indian market.
