The complex was organized last year by Sherobod Agro Impex LLC. Tomatoes, cucumbers, bell peppers and eggplants are grown in a 29-hectare greenhouse. It employs 200 young people.
The Head of the state emphasized the importance of increasing the volume of procurement of products, which will serve to reduce its cost.
Sherobod Anor Impex is also organized here. As a result of the implementation of the project worth $5 million, the processing and packaging of pomegranate have been established. Equipment from South Korea and Slovenia was installed.
In the absence of raw materials, the company does not stop its activities, but goes to the packaging of fruits, vegetables and melons.
The production capacity of the enterprise is 6 thousand tons of packaged products and 2 tons of pomegranate juice. It employs 70 people.
Pomegranate fruits are purchased from the population and horticultural farms. Every year, about 30 thousand tons of pomegranates are grown in Sherabad district. Of these, 8 thousand tons are exported.
Until recently, the area had 2,4 thousand hectares of pomegranate orchards. This year, farmers and entrepreneurs laid pomegranate orchards with an area of 3 thousand hectares on the site of low-yielding cotton and grain fields. In three years, it will be possible to harvest 18 thousand tons of pomegranates in the new orchards. It is planned to process 8 thousand tons and export 10 thousand tons of pomegranates.
