On June 30, President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited Uzbekistan Youth and Students Forum.

Tashkent’s Botanical Garden, where the forum’s events are held, is festively decorated. Exhibitions and demonstrations of the achievements of young people in science, technology, literature and art have been organized.

The Head of the state got acquainted with exhibitions, inventions, craftsmanship and artistic performances of young people. The President wished young people success in their studies and research.

The President made a congratulatory speech on the occasion of June 30 – Youth Day.

The main attention in Uzbekistan is paid to the education and upbringing of young people, ensuring their rights and interests. A government agency – the Agency for Youth Affairs has been organized. Another institution – the Youth Union has more than thirty non-governmental organizations. The State Program “Youth – Our Future” and “Five Initiatives” are being implemented in all regions, covering various spheres.

The current year has been declared in Uzbekistan as the Year of Supporting Youth and Improving Population Health, which is also a vivid manifestation of the attention paid to youth.

There are two major directions in the President’s youth policy: the first is to provide modern education, and the second is to ensure the employment of young people. These goals are based on the reforms and initiatives of recent years.

In particular, a new system of Presidential, creative and specialized schools has been created to develop the knowledge and talent of young people. In general, there has been an increase in attention to school education, incentives and respect for teachers. The younger generation has an increased thirst for knowledge.

Last year, Uzbekistan youth won 4 gold, 18 silver and 29 bronze medals at international scientific Olympiads. This year, all 96 graduates of the Presidential Schools entered prestigious foreign universities ahead of schedule on a grant basis.

Following the needs of young people, the number of universities has reached 127. Branches of 26 foreign universities have been opened. Over the past 5 years, the quota for admission to higher education institutions has been tripled, reaching 182,000 this year. This brings the total coverage to 28 percent. Four years ago, this figure was only 9 percent.

The increase in state grants from 21 thousand to 47 thousand and the allocation of special grants for 2 thousand girls from low-income families have brought joy to thousands of families.

This year, another higher education institution – the New Uzbekistan University has been established. In the new academic year, it will admit 300 young people.

Work to ensure youth employment demonstrates the priority of attention and care for them. The number of entrepreneurs under the age of 30 over the past four years has increased fivefold and exceeded 500 thousand.

As a result of practical work over the past eight months, 300 billion UZS have been allocated to solve the problems of 430 thousand young people included in the “Youth Notebook”. In particular, the state paid for the contract for more than 2 thousand students from families from the “Iron Notebook”.

Starting this year, a procedure has been introduced to reimburse employers for the amount of social tax charged for their employees under the age of 25. The introduction of a subsidy to students of vocational and technical schools for 500,000 UZS per month for 6 months for internships at enterprises has become a great incentive for young people and their parents.

This year, 2.3 trillion UZS of soft loans were allocated for the implementation of entrepreneurial projects of more than 92 thousand young people. 50 thousand new jobs were created within the framework of 3 thousand projects in 186 youth industrial and business zones organized in the regions.

The First Youth Forum in Uzbekistan was held in December last year. This year, festivals were held in all regions under the slogan “Youth of New Uzbekistan, Let’s Unite!” About 6 million young people took part in them. The culmination of the festival can be called a festive event in the Botanical Garden.

It is symbolic that this holiday is taking place on the eve of the 30th anniversary of Uzbekistan’s independence.

In his speech, the Head of the state paid special attention to the further development of the education system and expanding youth access to it.

“Every time I meet you, I never tire of repeating one thing: value science, strive for science! As you can see, those people and states are rapidly developing in the world that studied, mastered modern sciences and professions, and brought up the younger generation in this spirit. We will use all the opportunities for the youth of Uzbekistan to rise to such a high level”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

President Shavkat Mirziyoyev outlined the priority tasks of ensuring youth employment, strengthening patriotic education, supporting art and sports, social protection of young families.
