During a trip to Kashkadarya, the President of Uzbekistan visited the central polyclinic of Karshi District Medical Association.

The institution was built in the 60-70s of the last century. The hospital is designed for 228 patients, and the polyclinic can accommodate 250 people. Currently, they serve 243 thousand residents of the district. However, local conditions do not correspond to such coverage and the requirements of the time. Some equipment needs updating.

The President visited medical departments and wards, examined the situation, and talked with patients.

“The purpose of our visit today is to improve the lives of 3.5 million people in Kashkadarya and accelerate the development of industry, agriculture, and the social sphere. Driving by, I decided to find out what the situation was at the hospital. Making decisions after seeing the situation personally and talking to ordinary people is my biggest goal. People will be happy when medicine and education are at the proper level. We have improved hospitals in many places. But I wouldn’t say I like the situation in Karshi district. Judging by what I saw today, a decision was made to build a new hospital here”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said.

Responsible persons were instructed to propose the location and design of the future medical complex. It will be equipped with the most modern equipment and free medicines. A group of doctors and nurses working in the District Medical Association will be sent abroad to improve their skills. The new polyclinic will also become a training and practical center for employees of other district hospitals.

During the visit, issues of increasing the potential of personnel and the quality of medical care and putting the hospital territory in order were also considered.
