Russia plans to open a consulate general in Samarkand

    In the near future, Russia will open five consulates general, one of which is planned in Samarkand, as well as two embassies. This was stated by the State Secretary - Deputy Minister of Foreign Affairs of Russia Yevgeny Ivanov, reports TASS.

    "Decisions have already been made and agreed with the authorities of the host states on the opening of embassies in Burkina Faso and Equatorial Guinea, consulates general in Kapan (Armenia), Aktau (Kazakhstan), Samarkand (Uzbekistan), Denpasar (Indonesia) and Male (Maldives)," the diplomat said.

    He also noted that Moscow plans to further expand its diplomatic presence in friendly countries. The plans for the coming years include the opening of diplomatic and consular missions in a number of states located in geographical regions that have become key for the country in accordance with the new Concept of the foreign Policy of the Russian Federation, Ivanov explained.
