About 5,000 representatives from various countries around the world are
taking part in the prestigious conference.
Within the framework of the congress, issues regarding the fight against
transnational crime, terrorism, drug trafficking, corruption, and environmental
offenses, as well as child protection and the strengthening of the rule of law,
were discussed.
On the sidelines of the conference, Saida Mirziyoyeva also met with Monika
Djuma, UN Under-Secretary-General and Executive Director of the UN Office on
Drugs and Crime.
"We are actively cooperating with this UN body and implementing a
number of joint projects," said Saida Mirziyoyeva.
It was noted that this congress is of particular importance for Uzbekistan.
All participating states supported the country's initiative to host the next
congress in Uzbekistan. This initiative was also confirmed in the final
declaration.
Saida Mirziyoyeva assessed this decision as a symbol of high international
trust in Uzbekistan.
In 2031, Uzbekistan will welcome delegations from various countries around
the world. Preparations for the next congress will be carried out over the
course of five years.
