Samarkand State University strengthens cooperation with Indian universities

    A delegation headed by the Director General of the Indian Council for Cultural Relations Kumar Tukhin visited Samarkand State University.

    The rector of Samarkand State University, Senator Rustam Kholmurodov held a meeting with foreign guests. Members of the Indian delegation also met with students and teachers of this higher educational institution, the news agency "Doone" reports.

    - Our university has been cooperating with leading universities of a number of foreign countries for many years, including more than ten higher educational and research institutions of India, - said Rustam Kholmurodov. - These include universities in Delhi, Aligarh, Chandigarh, Allahabad Institute of Information Technology and others. We are confident that the cooperation relations of Samarkand State University with India will develop in the future and will make a significant contribution to the development of science, economy, industry and technological progress of both countries.

    - Friendly relations between Uzbekistan and India have a long history, - said Kumar Tukhin. - Today, cooperation between our peoples is consistently continuing and strengthening. We are confident that cooperation in the field of science and education will open the doors to new achievements and serve as a program for further development of the education systems of the two countries.

    During the meeting, a number of practical proposals were put forward and considered for the further development and expansion of existing ties with Indian higher education institutions and research centers, the creation of additional opportunities for Uzbek students to study at leading Indian universities, and an increase in the number of grants.

    The guests visited the Archaeological Museum of Samarkand State University and got acquainted with the unique samples of the past. They were greatly impressed by the activities of the Indian Center established at the university.
