Media: construction of a flying car factory has begun in China

Chinese manufacturer of electric cars XP eng has begun construction of a center for research, development and production of flying cars in the city of Guangzhou in the south of China, Xinhua news agency reported on Monday.

"The production base, built by order of XPENG AEROHT, a subsidiary of XP ENG for the production of flying cars, will become the world's first factory for the mass production of flying cars," the report says.

In July, XP eng reported that the company had signed an agreement with Guangzhou Industrial Development Zone on investment and cooperation in the framework of the Xpeng Aeroht flying car project. The company clarified that at first, the factory for large-scale production of flying cars will produce flying modules.

According to Xinhua, the production capacity of the future project will be 10 thousand units per year.

According to preliminary estimates, the price of a modular flying car will range from 1 to 2 million yuan (138-276 thousand dollars). The company expects to start delivering to customers in the fourth quarter of 2025, reports ria.ru.
