During the meeting, issues of raising relations between the Parliament of Uzbekistan and the European Parliament to a new level, continuing the exchange of views, experience and information on topical regional and global issues were discussed.
During the conversation, it was emphasized that the first Central Asia-European Union summit held in Samarkand became an important foundation for strengthening mutual trust and stable dialogue between the two regions.
The active participation of representatives of European parliaments in the 150th anniversary Assembly of the Interparliamentary Union, which was successfully held in Tashkent in April, was also highly appreciated, and the European Union supported the documents adopted within the framework of the Assembly.
The parties expressed their readiness to step up efforts to consistently continue the political dialogue, exchange best practices in the legislative process and strengthen inter-parliamentary ties.
