The delegation of Uzbekistan took part in the meeting of the Council of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly.

Before proceeding to the discussion of the issues on the agenda of the Council meeting, the Chairman of the Council of the Interparliamentary Assembly of States - Speaking about the 150th anniversary Assembly of the Interparliamentary Union in Tashkent and its results, Valentina Matvienko, Chairman of the Federation Council of the Federal Assembly of the Russian Federation, highlighted the high level of organization of the event, the high skill and responsibility of the host party in hosting and hosting the event, and congratulated Tanzila Kamalovna and her team on holding it at a high level. at the level of this prestigious event.

In turn, Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva noted the importance of the active participation of the parliamentary delegations of the CIS countries, their contribution to the adopted documents and their proposals. She also expressed her readiness for further cooperation in holding such major international forums.

After that, the issues on the agenda were considered.

The participants paid attention to the results of monitoring by the IPA CIS international observers of the presidential elections of the Republic of Belarus and the parliamentary elections of Tajikistan.

In particular, the coordinator of the IPA CIS mission, Chairman of the Committee of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis on Judicial and Legal Issues and Anti-Corruption, A. Eshmuratov, informed about the results of monitoring the parliamentary elections of Tajikistan, held on March 2, 2025.

The Council meeting also summed up the activities of the CIS Interparliamentary Assembly in 2024 and discussed preparations for the upcoming international summits.
