As a result of negotiations between Tashkent State Agrarian University (TSAU) and the Latvian University of Natural Sciences and Technologies (LLU), an agreement on the creation of joint educational programs was signed. Now our students can study in Latvia and get a diploma recognized in the European Union.
The document provides for the implementation of a bachelor's degree program in the specialties "Food Technology" and "Food Quality and Innovation" according to the formula "2 + 2", that is, students will study at TSAU for the first two years, the remaining two years at LLU. Successful graduates will receive a diploma recognized in the European Union.
In addition, an agreement was reached with the Latvian side on the breeding of a new variety of Uzbek rice adapted to the natural and climatic conditions of Latvia using the scientific and laboratory infrastructure of LLU.
Specialists from two universities will participate in the implementation of this innovative project. LLU will allocate a land plot for the project, taking into account the abundance of water resources in Latvia. If the project is successful, the prospect of Uzbek rice production in Latvia will be worked out.
During the negotiations, the issue of exporting Uzbek melon to Latvia was also raised. The main problem in this regard is the delivery of melons with proper storage. Taking this into account, the parties agreed to work together in this direction, the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture reports.
