Welcoming the guests, the khokim of the city expressed gratitude for the visit and stressed the importance of strengthening ties between Uzbekistan and Italy, especially in the context of expanding interregional cooperation.

During the talks, prospects for cooperation in such areas as tourism, education, investment and urban infrastructure development were discussed. Attilio Fontana noted the impressive transformations in Tashkent and highly appreciated the organization of the Tashkent International Investment Forum.

The parties paid special attention to the upcoming 2026 Winter Olympics, which will be held in Lombardy. In this context, cooperation in the field of sports and preparations for international events were discussed.

Issues related to the exchange of experience in the field of reorganizing public spaces, creating innovative hubs and improving public infrastructure were also raised.

Following the meeting, an initiative was proposed to develop a joint roadmap and an interregional agreement aimed at implementing specific projects and strengthening partnership.
