The rolling
stock is being updated as part of a large-scale program to develop public
transport and improve the quality of passenger transportation.
The new
trains are equipped with modern air conditioning systems for comfortable
operation in the summer, as well as a heating system that ensures passenger
comfort during the cold season.
The
introduction of new trains will reduce train travel intervals, improve the
quality of passenger service and gradually replace outdated rolling stock with
modern electric trains.
In
addition, an increase in the number of new trains will increase the carrying
capacity of the metro, ensure more stable compliance with the timetable and
make it possible to more efficiently serve the ever-growing passenger traffic.
The Moscow
metro also announced that 11 more modern electric trains are planned to be
purchased by the end of this year. Their phased commissioning will be the next
step in modernizing the metro and creating more comfortable conditions for
residents and guests of the capital.
