President Shavkat Mirziyoyev visited the Polytex Sirdaryo Cotton and Textile Cluster in Saykhunabad district.

Previously, there were no industrial facilities in Saykhunabad district, agriculture was focused only on growing cotton. Industry developed here as a result of agrarian reforms and the introduction of a cluster system. Now yarn, fabrics, ready-made clothes, vegetable oil, soap, food and other products are produced here. And that’s just from cotton.

In particular, Polytex Sirdaryo has launched the production of yarn. German technologies were introduced and 700 jobs were created. The annual capacity of the enterprise is 7,000 tons of yarn, and over the past period of this year, products worth $2.5 million have been exported to China, Türkiye and Bangladesh.

The cluster also includes an enterprise producing 30,000 tons of oil per year. 100 people are employed here.

The Head of the state got acquainted with the technological process of yarn production at Politex Sirdaryo and talked to the workers.

The products of textile enterprises of Syrdarya region were demonstrated here. Today, 9 cotton-textile clusters operate in the region. This year it is planned to harvest 268 thousand tons of raw cotton. This volume will be completely processed in the region.

The President also spoke with media representatives.

“Our main goal of today’s visit to Syrdarya is to determine the factors for turning the region into a region whose residents are fully provided with work”, Shavkat Mirziyoyev said. – The first factor, in the conditions of Syrdarya, is the land. The mindset of cluster owners is changing. They are striving for quality. Their income is growing. Now they must serve the interests of the people. This is primarily about creating jobs. For example, it is planned to create 100,000 jobs by allocating land to the population for farming. Secondly, farmers can grow on these lands whatever is profitable. Whoever understands the market and works harder gets paid. Another important aspect is that if we can eliminate unemployment in Syrdarya region, this will be an example for other regions.
