This was announced by the Turkish Minister of Family and Social Services, Makhinur Ozdemir Goktas, on one of the local TV channels, reported by azertag.az.
According to her, social media users will have to enter their identity document number and then verify it. "We will no longer allow children and teenagers to be used as 'commercial objects.' Schoolchildren are becoming addicted to the internet, which affects their academic results. Social networks often cause stress in children," the minister said, adding that the new regulation will be implemented at the end of January 2026.
