The USAID Agribusiness Development Project in cooperation with the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Tashkent State Agrarian University (TSAU) announced a competition of student eco-projects dedicated to Earth Day.

The objectives of the competition are to raise awareness of TSAU students about sustainable development and rational environmental solutions that can be implemented at their university and potentially make it more "green", as well as the search for modern creative eco-oriented approaches in the agricultural sector and the involvement of young specialists in this process.

Earth Day, celebrated annually on April 22, is associated with the founding date of the environmental movement in 1970 and is dedicated to raising awareness of long-term environmental sustainability around the world. According to the philosophy of "think globally, act locally", it is expected that the competition will push the TSAU student community to develop solutions to environmental problems that can be applied both in their educational institution and at the global level. The finalists will be awarded with gifts and certificates.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Agriculture of the Republic of Uzbekistan, applications are accepted until March 25, 2022.

The finalists will be selected by a special commission consisting of representatives of the USAID Agribusiness Development Project and TSAU. No later than April 10, 2022, they will present their projects at the award ceremony, which will take place on April 22.
