Notification of the court session is planned to be sent by SMS

On April 19, at the plenary session of the Legislative Chamber of the Oliy Majlis, the draft law "On amendments and additions to some legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan in connection with the digitalization of the activities of courts" was considered in the first reading.

According to the lower house of Parliament, in order to improve procedural legislation, amendments and additions are envisaged to the Criminal Procedure Code, the Code of Administrative Responsibility, the Civil Procedure Code, the Economic Procedure Code and the Code of Administrative Proceedings.

The draft law establishes such procedures as notifying the parties about the court session on the case via SMS, online monitoring of the status of the appeal to the court, the procedure for participating in court sessions via mobile videoconference remotely without visiting the courthouse.

According to the deputies, the adoption of the bill will increase the level of access of individuals and legal entities to justice, save money, reports the news agency "Dunyo".

The draft law was adopted in the first reading.
