At the meeting, held in the spirit of sincerity and partnership, issues of mutual cooperation in the field of medicine were discussed.

It was noted that Uzbekistan is grateful to the United States for the practical assistance provided during the coronavirus pandemic. In particular, vaccines supplied by the United States under the COVID-19 program to combat COVID-19 were of great importance in stabilizing the epidemiological state in the country and ensuring public health.

At the same time, a number of projects implemented in the country in recent years on the basis of USAID grants allow us to improve the field of medicine at the level of modern requirements.

For example, cooperation is being strengthened in the areas of prevention of tuberculosis and lung diseases in our country, equipping medical institutions with special medical equipment, the fight against HIV, hepatitis B and C, as well as other infectious diseases, sanitation and epidemiology, and a number of other areas of medicine.

According to the press service of the Ministry of Health, at the meeting they agreed on the prospects for the implementation of joint programs for the development of medical education in the future, including the development of cooperation between US medical universities with specialized universities of our country, training and advanced training of doctors and nurses.
