Uzbekistan and KSA intend to strengthen trade and investment cooperation

    On August 16 of this year, on the eve of the visit of the Head of State to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, Deputy Prime Minister - Minister of Investment and Foreign Trade Jamshid Khodzhayev met with the Minister of Trade of the KSA Majid Bin Abdullah Al-Kasabi in Jeddah.

    During the conversation, promising measures to increase the volume of mutual trade turnover, ways to further strengthen investment cooperation, as well as the economic agenda of the upcoming visit of the Head of Uzbekistan to Saudi Arabia were discussed.

    There has been a 13-fold increase in the volume of bilateral trade since the beginning of this year, mainly due to active mutual supplies of textile products, fruits and vegetables, plastic and metal products. The parties expressed mutual interest in increasing both the volume of deliveries and in expanding the range of shipped items.

    As a result of the meeting, a common position was developed on all issues of mutual interest. Confidence was expressed that the upcoming visit at the highest level will give a new impetus to the development of business ties, fill the broad agenda of bilateral relations between Uzbekistan and Saudi Arabia with practical content, the press service of the Ministry of investment and Foreign trade of Uzbekistan reports.
