The event was attended by the Mayor of the Antakya district, Izzettin Yilmaz, heads of provincial branches of political parties, representatives of district law enforcement agencies, as well as employees of the Embassy and Consulate General of our country in Turkey, the Dune news agency reports.
During the event, Uzbek diplomats once again expressed their deep condolences to the fraternal Turkish people, who experienced the "catastrophe of the century" on February 6 of this year. It was noted that the Uzbek people have been helping their Turkish brothers since the first day of the tragedy, and the transfer of these containers on the eve of the holy holiday of Eid al-Adha, which are the best solution to the housing issue before the construction of solid housing, once again confirms our blood unity.
Special attention was paid to the initiatives of the President of Uzbekistan aimed at restoring Hatay province, including the construction of new houses and other infrastructure facilities, which will become another vivid symbol of our close friendship and solidarity.
The Mayor of Antakya district, Izzettin Yilmaz, noted that the Turkish people will never forget the assistance provided by Uzbekistan from the first hours of the tragedy. He stressed that Uzbek rescuers and military medics, risking their lives working in the most difficult conditions, showed high heroism, courage and professionalism, providing comprehensive assistance to the injured and wounded.
During the event, our diplomats answered questions from residents of the Ovakent district who are ethnic Uzbeks, told about large-scale reforms in the republic, the results of the constitutional referendum, the upcoming presidential elections of Uzbekistan.
