Uzhydromet: at the weekend, abnormal frosts will gradually weaken

Today, the territory of Uzbekistan is located on the southwestern periphery of a vast and very cold anticyclone centered over the eastern regions of Kazakhstan. There is no precipitation in Uzbekistan, only in the Tashkent, Syrdarya, Surkhandarya regions and the regions of the Fergana Valley, light snow is possible in places from layered clouds. The air temperature in the afternoon is expected to be 7-12 degrees below zero.

According to the Uzhydromet service, dry weather will remain throughout the republic next weekend. The air temperature on Saturday will be 12-17oC frost at night, up to 20oC frost in some places, 5-10oC frost in the afternoon, up to 12oC frost in some places. On Sunday, relatively warm air from the Caspian Sea will begin to flow to the north-western regions of the republic, which will begin to push back the cold periphery of the anticyclone.

On Sunday it will be a little warmer at night 12-17OC frost, in the afternoon 5-10oC frost.

Fogs will be observed in places across the republic.

Due to the fact that there will be ice on the roads of the republic in places, Uzhydromet recommends being more careful and attentive. It is not recommended to travel to mountainous areas on January 13-16 due to increased avalanche danger.
