A crime was solved in Bukhara thanks to a facial recognition system

    On March 9 of this year, between 09:00 and 10:30, an unknown citizen came to a gold jewelry store located on the second floor of the shopping complex "Basket" in the city of Bukhara. Unnoticed by the seller, she stole a gold ring worth 2 million soums and fled the scene of the crime.

    According to the press service of the Department of Internal Affairs of the Bukhara region, as a result of operational search measures, the identity of the attacker was established using a facial recognition system. She turned out to be a resident of the Kungrad district of the Republic of Karakalpakstan S.K., born in 1981.

    A criminal case has been opened on this fact under part 1 of Article 169 of the Criminal Code of the Republic of Uzbekistan.

    Currently, investigative actions are continuing to establish the involvement of this person in other unsolved crimes of the same type.
