The program of the meeting held on April 25-28 under the chairmanship of Uzbekistan was distinguished by its richness both in content and in cultural and educational plans.
The national coordinators of India, Kazakhstan, China, Kyrgyzstan, Pakistan, Russia, Tajikistan and Uzbekistan had a thorough exchange of views on a number of issues identified during previous meetings of the SNC and initiatives put forward within the framework of our country's chairmanship in the organization in 2021-2022.
The draft documents included in the agenda of the upcoming meetings of the SCO Council of Ministers of Foreign Affairs and the SCO SGG were considered.
During the meeting, the delegates discussed the draft Comprehensive Plan initiated by the Uzbek side for 2023-2027 on the implementation of the provisions of the Treaty on Long-term Good-Neighborliness, Friendship and Cooperation of the SCO member states, issues on holding a high-level International Conference under the auspices of the SCO on Afghanistan. A consensus has been reached on the timing of the upcoming SCO events at the level of heads of ministries and departments.
During the meeting, an exchange of views was also held on the applications of states for observer status and SCO dialogue partners.
The parties heard reports on past events within the framework of Uzbekistan's chairmanship in the organization, and also agreed to intensify work within the framework of the SCO SNC, including in the format of a videoconference.
During their stay in the Fergana Region, the national coordinators of the SCO member states also got acquainted with the ongoing large-scale reforms of the economic potential of the region.
The SCO delegations' stay in our country ended with a cultural program, during which they visited the Handicraft Center in Margilan and Rishtan, the Dune news agency reports.
Recall that Uzbekistan has been a chairman state in the SCO since September 2021.
The previous meeting of the SCO SNC was held on March 12-14 in Bukhara.
