Prospects of inter-parliamentary cooperation discussed in Avaza

    Within the framework of the third UN Conference on Landlocked Developing Countries, held in Avaza, Turkmenistan, Chairman of the Senate of the Oliy Majlis Tanzila Narbayeva held a meeting with Chairman of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan Sagiba Gafarova and Chairman of the Mejlis of Turkmenistan Dunyagozel Gulmanova.

    During the dialogue, which took place in a sincere atmosphere, issues of further development of interparliamentary cooperation and expansion of multilateral relations were discussed.

    During the conversation, it was noted that the First Uzbek-Azerbaijani Interparliamentary Forum held in Khiva had become a fruitful platform for exchanging experience in strengthening friendly relations between the two countries. It is also recognized that such forums, which will be organized on the occasion of the 30th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Uzbekistan and Azerbaijan, serve to bring bilateral relations to a new level.

    It was emphasized that the activities of the Uzbek-Turkmen interparliamentary cooperation groups continue consistently and effectively. It was noted the importance of further strengthening work in this area, including by expanding ties within the framework of the interparliamentary commission with the participation of representatives of local authorities.

    During the dialogue, it was noted that initiatives such as the regular holding of interparliamentary forums in Central Asia, the intensification of cooperation between border regions, and the exchange of delegations contribute to the deepening of regional integration.
