At least five people were killed and several injured in a collision between a commuter train and a freight train near Bilaspur station in Chhattisgarh, India, on Tuesday afternoon.

According to the Report, this was reported by the Indian media.

Several more wagons derailed. Rescuers and medics were sent to the scene to help the victims.

Restoration work is underway to clear the affected section of the track and resume traffic.
