There was a water leak from a reservoir in Kashkadarya

    In Kashkadarya region, there was a water leak from the Gissar reservoir. According to the press service of the Ministry of Emergency Situations of the republic, the reservoir was not damaged, and work is currently underway to eliminate the consequences of the accident.

    The Ministry of Emergency Situations of Uzbekistan reported that on June 10, during engineering and technical measures to lay an additional tunnel, a water leak was detected on the left side of the reservoir dam.

    To eliminate the consequences of the accident, an operational headquarters was established under the leadership of the Chairman of the Board of Uzbekhydroenergo JSC, which included the khokim of Kashkadarya region, the heads of the Ministry of Emergency Situations, the Department of Internal Affairs and other responsible organizations.

    All necessary engineering measures are carried out with the help of special equipment, the Ministry of Emergency Situations noted.

    The Ministry assured that the situation is under control. The dam of the reservoir is not damaged. There are no injured or dead as a result of the incident. The Ministry of Emergency Situations urges residents not to panic.

    The head of the district administration asked residents not to believe false information and to stay in their places of residence. The head of the UCHS added that there was no emergency situation on the territory of the reservoir.
