According to information, the incident occurred near the airport on the outskirts of Tucson, Maranha Department. The authorities clarified that the planes that collided in the air were light-engined Cessna 172S and Lancair 360 MK II.

Previously, one plane landed without incident, while the other crashed into the ground near the runway and caught fire. The Maranha Police Department confirmed that two of the dead were on board one plane, while two people on the other plane were not injured.

The authorities are investigating the causes of the incident.
