In St. Petersburg, migrants were banned from working in a taxi

St. Petersburg has banned migrants from working in taxis until the end of 2025.

In St. Petersburg, it was banned until the end of the year to accept migrants to work in a taxi, the press service of the administration of the governor of the city, Alexander Beglov, reported.

This decision was made in accordance with paragraph 6 of Article 18.1 of the Federal Law "On the Legal Status of Foreign Citizens in the Russian Federation." It should improve the quality and safety of taxis, as well as create additional jobs for Russians.

During the period of the restrictions, the government plans to assess how the ban will affect the life of the city in order to decide whether it should be extended next year.

At the same time, employers were given three months to dismiss foreigners. The resolution will enter into force in ten days, transfers ria.ru.
