The Family Code introduces the concept of a large family

    The President signed the Law "On amendments and additions to certain legislative acts of the Republic of Uzbekistan".

    The law introduced amendments and additions to 8 codes and 10 legal acts.

    According to the amendment to the Family Code, a family with 4 or more children under the age of 18 is a large family.

    According to the amendment made by the Law to the Code of Administrative Responsibility, administrative responsibility is established for failure to comply with the requirements of a protection order by a person who has committed harassment and (or) violence or is inclined to commit it.

    At the same time, a fine from 223 thousand soums to 669 thousand soums or administrative arrest up to 15 days is applied to the offender.

    According to the amendment to the Law “On state duty” made by the Law, plaintiffs in claims for compensation for material damage and compensation for moral damage to women who have suffered from oppression and violence are exempted from paying the state duty.

    The law comes into force on the day of its official publication.
