During the conversation, it was noted that Uzbekistan actively cooperates with the International Organization for Migration and the Organization's activities to promote safe, regulated and regular migration fully comply with Uzbekistan's national priorities.
During the meeting, it was also noted that in recent years, under the leadership of President Shavkat Mirziyoyev, special attention has been paid to work in the field of migration in Uzbekistan, which is considered at the level of state policy. In this regard, in 2019, the country established cooperation as a full member of the International Organization for Migration.
It was emphasized that 16 normative legal acts have been adopted in order to regulate the processes of labor migration and introduce new mechanisms into practice, educational programs, preferential lending systems and support for migrants returning to their homeland have been created.
There was also an exchange of views on the diversification of labor migration markets in Uzbekistan, reducing dependence on traditional directions and strengthening the provision of social protection for migrants.
During the meeting, the parties expressed interest in intensifying work to improve migration management, ensure safe and regulated migration processes, and take practical measures aimed at protecting the rights of migrants.
