The UN Secretary-General stressed that Uzbekistan is a leader in many areas, such as human rights protection, social development, employment, and can be an example not only for the countries of the region, but also for the world.
In addition, an integrated approach to solving problems related to ecology and environmental protection, including the consequences of the Aral crisis, which is currently one of the important issues on the agenda, was highly appreciated.
During the meeting, issues that will be considered at the "Summit of the Future" in September this year with the participation of the heads of state were also touched upon, and the hope was expressed that Uzbekistan would actively participate in this event with its initiatives.
Antonio Guterres highlighted the results of systematic work in Uzbekistan to achieve gender equality, ensure the rights and interests of women, create equal opportunities for them and expressed satisfaction that all UN recommendations in this direction are fully taken into account.
At the same time, the importance of the role of parliaments in the implementation of development programs put forward by the United Nations was emphasized.
