The VII Forum of guides of Uzbekistan-2024 was held in Tashkent

    The VII Forum of guides of Uzbekistan-2024, dedicated to the World Day of the Tourist guide, was held in Tashkent. It gathered more than 300 participants from different countries, including experienced guides, specialists in the tourism industry, representatives of government agencies, scientific and educational institutions.

    The event was organized by the Tourism Committee under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan and the Scientific Research Institute for Tourism Development.

    At the opening of the Forum, the head of the Tourism Committee under the Ministry of Ecology, Environmental Protection and Climate Change of the Republic of Uzbekistan Umid Shadiyev, Minister of Higher Education, Science and Innovation of the Republic of Uzbekistan Kongratbai Sharipov, Deputy Khokim of Ashkent for Tourism, sports, culture, Cultural heritage and Mass Communications Fahriddin Davrukov and Vice-rector of Seljuk University of Turkey made speeches Emrulla Eken.

    During the event, Chairman of the Tourism Committee Umid Shadiyev said: "Our state, under the leadership of the leader of the republic, is making great efforts to make the tourism industry of the republic bright, to give it a strategic vector of economic development. In particular, the visa regime for foreign visitors has been simplified. Now the number of countries for which the visa regime has been simplified has reached 93. Thanks to the reforms in the industry, about 7 million foreign tourists arrived in our country in 2023. Their average stay increased to 4 days (by 1.3 times). On the initiative of "Travel to Uzbekistan!", 21 million visits of local tourists were organized to the regions (20% more)."

    The purpose of the Forum was to exchange experience and knowledge in the field of sightseeing, discuss topical issues and prospects for the development of one of the important areas of the tourism industry, as well as strengthen cooperation between Uzbek and foreign partners.

    Within its framework, an international scientific and practical conference "Excursion activities: a symbiosis of education, science and practice" was held, at which prominent scientists, experts and analysts of the tourism industry spoke.

    Several memoranda of understanding and cooperation were signed between the Scientific Research Institute for Tourism Development and various educational and tourism organizations from Turkey, Kazakhstan and Uzbekistan.
