A residential building collapsed in Tehran, leaving people trapped under the rubble

A three-storey residential building collapsed in the Yafabad district of the Iranian capital Tehran.

As the Report reports with reference to ISNA, this was stated by the representative of the capital's fire safety department, Jalal Maleki.

"At the moment, four people have been rescued alive from the rubble, and the search operation is ongoing," he said.

Emergency services were deployed to the scene. Since people may remain under the rubble, search and rescue operations are conducted with great caution.

There were offices on the ground floor, and construction was underway next to the collapsed building.

The causes of the incident will be determined based on the results of the investigation.
