"The American government believes that about 75 people died during Saturday's military operation to capture Venezuelan President Nicolas Maduro, in particular, dozens died as a result of a shootout at his residence in Caracas," unnamed officials told the newspaper.

One of the sources of the publication estimated the death toll at at least 67. Another source claims that the victims ranged from 75 to 80 people. ria.ru.

According to WP, the assessment includes data on the Cuban and Venezuelan military, as well as civilians. Cuban President Miguel Diaz-Canel has declared two days of mourning in the country for the 32 compatriots who died defending Maduro.
