The symbolic first stone in the foundation of the new city was laid on March 18, 2023. At the ceremony, the Head of state emphasized that New Tashkent will become a green city – special attention will be paid to the cleanliness of air and water, the use of alternative energy sources, and the planting of many plants. The implementation of the green belt project will also begin here: a Central Park will be created on an area of 420 hectares and 200 thousand trees will be planted.
Today, a nursery is already functioning on a site of 50 hectares, which the President visited today. The Head of state examined the seedlings and got acquainted with the landscape design plans and the irrigation and care systems for future green areas.
To date, 27 thousand decorative seedlings have been grown in the nursery for further transplantation. In addition, a greenhouse, a boiler room, and storage and irrigation systems for planting materials have already been built.
Temporary administrative buildings are being built in the new city to organize the work of the relevant ministries and agencies. The President got acquainted with the conditions created in them.
Four buildings and auxiliary structures have been erected from lightweight structures using only domestically produced building materials. The offices are designed in the open space format and can accommodate up to 250 employees each.
This will facilitate the phased organization of the work of ministries and agencies in New Tashkent, as well as reduce congestion on the capital’s roads.
