According to EastFruit price monitoring, from September 22 to October 6, 2023, the average wholesale price of a banana in Uzbekistan increased from 14,000 to 16,000 soums/kg (from $1.15 to $1.31), which was the first significant increase in prices for these products over the past 5.5 months. Starting from the third decade of April to the end of June of this year, wholesale prices for bananas steadily declined, and then until the end of the second decade of September, the average wholesale price remained stable at almost the same level.
At the same time, wholesale banana prices in Uzbekistan remain below the levels of previous years. As of October 6, 2023, the average wholesale price for these products is the lowest compared to the levels recorded on the same date in 2020-2022.
