As mentioned by the Head of State in his Address to the Oliy Majlis and the people, this year, 8.1 million square meters of multi-apartment buildings were constructed and are being launched. Overall, over the past nine years, 210 million square meters of residential and non-residential facilities have been commissioned.
Major residential construction is also underway in New Tashkent. In the first stage, it’s planned to develop modern infrastructure for 600,000 residents. By the project’s completion, New Tashkent will be transformed into a major metropolis capable of accommodating 2 million people.
The first step in ensuring housing needs is to make the “Sharq Bahori” complex. This is one of the most significant projects of residential construction in our region – the territory covering 95 hectares will house multi-story buildings for almost 15 thousand apartments.
To date, over 18 million square meters of construction work have been completed. Modern materials in the “A+” energy-efficiency category are being used.
It’s also planned to develop a green zone for planting more than 15,000 trees and shrubs on the site. Independent heating and cooling systems will be installed, and the roofs will be fully covered with solar panels.
Underground parking will be provided for residents’ personal vehicles. A park, a metro station, administrative buildings, and public facilities will be located within a 5-10-minute walk of the complex.
While visiting one of the completed apartments and getting acquainted with the conditions, the President underlined that New Tashkent should become a standard and a workshop for the whole country in the construction of convenient housing for the population.
