Jasurbek Jaysunov became candidate for OCA Athletes' Commission

Uzbek taekwondo athlete Jasurbek Jaysunov has been included in the list of candidates for the Athletes' Commission of the Olympic Council of Asia (OCA).

He will compete for election to the commission representing the Central Asian region.

The OCA announced the candidates running for a seat on its Athletes' Commission. The list features Jasurbek Jaysunov, a medalist of the Hangzhou 2022 Asian Games and member of the Uzbekistan national taekwondo WT team.

Jaysunov's main competitors in the Central Asian region will be representatives from Kazakhstan and Iran: Paris 2024 Olympian and sport climber Amir Maimuratov from Kazakhstan, and Paris 2024 Olympic taekwondo champion Arian Salimi from Iran.

The voting process will take place in Japan during the Aichi-Nagoya 2026 Asian Games, running from September 20 to October 2.

Voting rights are exclusively granted to athletes participating in the Asian Games.
