This was
announced by the Customs Service under the Government of Tajikistan.
It is
noted that the new facility will expand the capabilities for efficient
organization of cargo inspection and customs control processes. It will also
serve to enhance the infrastructure capacity of the post and improve control
over cargo moving across the state border.
The
project was implemented in cooperation between the Customs Service of
Tajikistan and the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC).
At the
same time, modern X-ray inspection equipment has been installed at the post,
speeding up the verification processes of goods and vehicles. This not only
facilitates legitimate international trade flows but also enhances the
effectiveness of combating smuggling and the illegal trafficking of prohibited
products.
Event
participants emphasized that the "Fotehobod" customs post is one of
the crucial border crossing points in the region, noting that such projects
contribute to the modernization of customs infrastructure and the strengthening
of international cooperation.
