As part of a working visit
to Hunan Province, Uzbekistan’s Ambassador Farhod Arziev held a meeting with
Governor Mao Weiming. During the talks, issues regarding the further
development of bilateral cooperation were discussed. Mao Weiming emphasized
that Uzbekistan is a key partner within China's "Belt and Road"
initiative, a friendly neighbor, and a strategic partner.
The negotiations thoroughly
reviewed promising areas of cooperation between the regions of Uzbekistan and
Hunan Province. The active exchange between official and business circles, as
well as the implementation of trade and investment projects, were positively
assessed. Hunan Province expressed strong interest in further developing trade,
economic, cultural, and humanitarian ties with Uzbek regions and organizing
joint events.
For reference, Hunan
Province ranks 7th in China by population and 10th by land area, with its
administrative center located in Changsha.
Agriculture and the mining industry hold
leading positions in the province's economy. Key agricultural products include
rice, tobacco, and citrus fruits. Furthermore, Hunan is one of China's vital
centers for the extraction and processing of minerals.
